I was born and partly bred here in Gisborne and on the East Coast. I am happily married to my wife Candy Atkins Rangihuna and we have two awesome sons, Duke and Maia. My hobbies and interest include fishing, diving, family time, Researching Maori pedagogy, writing poetry and most sports. I have played representative rugby for the Ngati Porou East Coast Rugby team which has allowed me to travel the country. I have worked in various fields which include farming, forestry, security and more recently youth social work.

I am really looking forward to working alongside you this year. I hope to inspire and motivate you, so you can reach your maximum potential. Every one of you has the potential to be something special. My teaching philosophy is based on Morals, Values and most importantly Respect. If you can manage those three important elements in life, then your last year at Gisborne Intermediate will be a great one. I believe in dreaming big, and have always stayed true to this philosophy.
